Aurelia aurita
Information

The genome project of the scyphozoan jellyfish Aurelia aurita (moon jelly) from Atlantic ocean.

The genome assembly ABSv1.0 is 377 Mbp long and consists of 2710 scaffolds with N50=1.04 Mbp (50% of the total assembly length is contained in 112 scaffolds). In total 28625 protein coding genes were predicted. DNA for the genome sequencing was extracted from a male jellyfish collected in the Bay of Kiel (Baltic sea). Genome sequence was reconstructed by shotgun approach using Illumina pair-end and mate-pair libraries with ~90x total coverage.

This genome project has been registered in NCBI under the BioProject accession PRJNA494057. The genome assembly has been deposited at DDBJ/EMBL/GenBank under the accession REGM00000000.

Sequencing reads for the genome and transcriptome have been deposited in NCBI Sequence Read Archive under the study accession SRP164891.

The transcriptome assembly has been deposited at DDBJ/EMBL/GenBank under the accession GHAG00000000. You may also search genomic and transcriptomic data of Aurelia and other cnidarians using our BLAST server at OIST.
